Prompts don't constrain agents—scoped tokens do: a Cloudflare ops dilemma
onitsoga · reddit · 2026-10-29
The author shares safety concerns about running AI agents against their Cloudflare setup: "delete only this project's buckets" still requires the agent to guess what counts as "this project," and a bad guess on similarly named or shared buckets deletes the wrong thing—prompting "don't touch other buckets" doesn't prevent it. What helps somewhat: having agents list what they'll delete beforehand and leave notes when stopping. But scoped API tokens are what actually limit agents—prompts only ask, tokens constrain. They ask the community how to manage this across multiple projects without redoing permissions constantly.
