Your agent gets dumber the longer it runs: two memory patterns that fix it
JeremyCMorgan · x · 2026-10-29
A FalkorDB blog post (amplified by Jeremy Morgan) argues that long-running agents get less accurate, slower and more expensive over time, and that graph-based memory can fix what pure vector retrieval can't.
Two patterns worth stealing:
- Separate background extraction from per-turn retrieval — extract facts/relations asynchronously instead of stuffing history into context.
- Expire stale relationships instead of appending contradictions — update or delete outdated facts rather than piling conflicting ones.
The post also urges readers to reproduce benchmark claims themselves rather than trusting vendor marketing.
