Sundar Pichai announced Gemini 4 Carbon, Google's next frontier model released just two weeks after Argon. It ranks #1 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5.0 with a score of 59 and leads cybersecurity evals: 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro (vulnerability finding), 54.8% on ExploitGym (exploitation), and 71.0% on CWE-bench (patching), with notable gains on long-horizon tasks and strengthened frontier safeguards.
A DeepMind employee added internal color: Carbon writes all of his code and can be trusted to run autonomously for multiple nights, making intelligent decisions along the way. Rollout will be gradual and responsible, mirroring the Argon release process.
