Designer builds Briiq, an AI-native IDE where designs are real shadcn/React code
coelhod · reddit · 2026-10-29
Designer Daniel shares Briiq on Reddit, an AI-native IDE for designers he built with Claude Code — pitched as 'Cursor for designers'.
Motivation: after 5 years as a startup's sole designer, he was frustrated that Figma work was 'just a drawing' needing developers to translate. Claude Code let him build with code himself, but prompting alone isn't ideal for design.
Briiq's approach: it looks like a design tool, but every element is real shadcn/React code in your repo — editable by hand or via your coding agent, so nothing gets handed off. The first product is Briiq Slides, with UI and diagram editors planned next. Not yet released; preview at letsbriiq.it.
