Why writers hate AI but developers love it: it depends on what the end user actually consumes
bendee983 · x · 2026-10-29
bendee983, who works daily with professional writers and software engineers, explains the split: in writing, the text itself is the end product, so AI drafting strips your voice and leaves an "AI feel"; in software, users judge the product and UX, not the code, so AI-written code is fine and much faster. AI still helps with drafting, research, brainstorming and editing — but end-to-end AI writing has little real value for now, even as it dilutes quality writing online.
