Genome LM Omnii-1 generalizes to unseen modality, improving early-stage cancer detection in blood

Radical Numerics' Omnii Diagnostics project tested whether a multimodal genome language model could detect cancers whose blood signals are too faint for current classifiers.
The team post-trained their generalist gLM to predict cell-free biomarkers. Omnii-1 showed impressive generalization to an unseen modality — predicting 5hmC-QTLs — and its features improved sensitivity for early-stage cancer detection in a test cohort.
