Researcher slams model release as 'marketing bullshit', says hosting Kimi K3.1 Pro would be better

- Researcher Elie Bakouch publicly slammed a team's model release: 'you just have no idea how to do a proper model release, everything around this release is some marketing bullshit including the benchmark.'
- His alternative: since they build on open weights, they'd get far more sovereignty hosting Kimi K3.1 Pro in an EU datacenter — with actual weight access and likely a better model.
- The criticized party (quoted tweet) admitted they 'wanted to provoke the X community a bit... feedback taken, we will do much better.'
