AssemblyAI · x · 2026-10-28
AssemblyAI introduced AssemblyAI-TTS-1, its first text-to-speech model, aimed at voice agents with 90ms streaming latency and pricing of $15 per million characters.
The company claims it's the best TTS model to run at scale when combining accuracy, naturalness, and cost. Highlights: leading accuracy on independent benchmarks, trained on millions of hours of audio, instant voice cloning, and 4,000+ voices with new ones added daily. It runs on infrastructure already handling 3M+ hours of daily audio for 1M+ speech-to-text developers, with unlimited concurrency on pay-as-you-go.
