PhD student puts Behind the Scenes appendix in every paper to humanize AI research

Researcher Benno Krojer has made a tradition of including a "Behind the Scenes" section in the appendix of all his first-author papers since AURORA, documenting the real motivations, slumps, pivots, and brainstorming behind each project. His PhD thesis appendix extends this to five years of research: why he started, how ideas evolved, and lessons learned. The goal is to humanize the field and show young researchers that polished papers are built on confusion and uncertainty; collaborators have adopted the habit too.
