A hack on University of New Mexico Hospital forced ambulance diversions and canceled 30 clinics across the state. Garrison Lovely argues all future hacks should be assumed to involve AI, citing:
- Richard Browne, Director of Ireland's NCSC: "They're all using AI now"
- John Hultquist, Chief Analyst, Google Threat Intelligence Group: assume all threat actors use AI in some capacity and have benefited
- Check Point's AI Security Report 2026: analysts should assume AI involvement by default rather than wait for proof
- Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince told Reuters he knows of "a bunch of additional severe vulnerabilities" in other critical software, expecting years of major incidents ahead
