Qwenputer: A Full RISC-V CPU Hidden Inside Qwen3.5-4B Weights
CatAstro_Piyush · x · 2026-10-28
Community project "Qwenputer" embeds a complete RISC-V CPU inside the weights of Qwen3.5-4B, using the model's own Gated DeltaNet layers as RAM. It runs C and MicroPython directly in forward passes with no external runtime.
On DeepMind math benchmarks: the base model scores 55–90%, base + Python tool use reaches 95–100%, and Qwenputer hits 97.5–100%. A geeky experiment showing model weights as a computing substrate.
