Developer reports Cursor account hacked: attacker drained weekly usage for days
saheedniyi_02 · x · 2026-10-28
Developer timithechef reports his Cursor account was compromised: after weeks of login attempts (including Vietnamese code-challenge emails), an attacker got in days ago, drained his weekly usage within hours, and repeatedly tried buying credits — invoice screenshots show a dozen failed top-ups from Oct 25-28, plus a reversed €46.16 xAI charge. He revoked sessions and changed passwords, but says he can't trust storing billing info in these apps until fixed, and notes Cursor's dashboard offers no way to reach support.
