SISTRIX: Single-day AI visibility checks are meaningless — prompt breadth beats repetition 3x

SISTRIX published a data-driven study on how to measure brand visibility in AI answers, concluding that breadth beats repetition:
- Single-day results tell you nothing: asking ChatGPT "which robot vacuum is currently the best?" daily for 28 days, Roborock and Dreame appeared almost every day, while Ecovacs showed up on 12/28 days, Mova on 11, Xiaomi on 3 — with no discernible pattern.
- High churn, stable totals: 20-55% of prompts mentioning a brand change weekly (about half for ChatGPT/AI Mode, 1 in 5 for AI Overviews), yet net mention totals usually shift only 4-10%. More prompts = smoother curve.
- Breadth beats repetition: the same 20 queries spread across 20 different prompts on one day measure over 3x more accurately than 1 prompt repeated over 20 days (0-59% vs 16-35% ranges; 100 prompts narrows to 21-29%).
- Scale effect: brands with 10,000+ prompts see only ±1.9% weekly fluctuation in AI visibility, vs ±5.7% for brands under 100 prompts.
A key methodological calibration for GEO/AEO practitioners: measure AI visibility with broad prompt coverage, not single-prompt repeated checks.
