JEV Arena: 18 LLMs Fight 306 Rounds in an Open-Source 2D Fighting Game with 'Mental Attacks'
Mysterious_Hearing14 · reddit · 2026-10-28
An open-source 2D fighting game where LLMs choose every move—approach, block, kick, or fireball—based on health, distance, and opponent action. The hosted leaderboard logs 18 models and 306 fights with sides swapped; the game waits for both answers so API latency never decides wins. Its signature mentalattack move injects a prepared message into the opponent's next prompt—convincing the enemy to stand still is a legitimate tactic, with cooldowns and no direct health effect. Custom fighters get a separate leaderboard; everything runs locally via JSON configs, offline bots need no keys.
