After visiting warehouse robotics company Dexory's factory, the author summarizes a key insight: reliability data "arrives at one second per second." Andrei Danescu explained that robots are continuously tested over and over — simulation can model perception, dynamics, contact, even a snowstorm, but not twelve months of bearing wear, cable flex, thermal cycling and dust.
