Would you ship a policy trained mostly in generated worlds? AIFlow polls robot people
AIFlow_ML · x · 2026-10-28
AIFlowML poses an open question to Google DeepMind's robotics team: would you ship a policy trained mostly in generated (synthetic) worlds if it passed your real-world tests? He says he's 50/50 on it.
The question touches a core debate in robot learning: whether generative simulation environments can replace real-world data at scale, and whether sim2real validation is trustworthy enough for deployment.
