Google DeepMind announced Genie 4, a new world model with unprecedented realism and real-time interactive simulation. Natively multimodal, it generates music, ambient audio, and interactive dialogue alongside the world; Gemini Omni anchors simulations in real-world appearance while other Gemini models maintain coherence via complex reasoning. You can type a scene, walk through it with keyboard controls, and steer it with text as it runs. DeepMind frames world simulation as crucial to AGI, targeting robot/agent training environments and new interactive experiences. It's rolling out as a research preview to trusted testers, then Google AI Ultra subscribers via Project Genie and Gemini API / AI Studio partners.
