Karpathy recommends a YouTube series building a CPU from a single transistor
blaizedsouza · x · 2026-10-28
Karpathy shared and praised a YouTube playlist that walks from a single transistor up to a small CPU (the Scott CPU), based on the book "But How Do It Know". He also noted a deeper rabbit hole of people who have implemented and simulated the Scott CPU in code, and joked about resisting the urge to simulate it in C, add tensor cores, port it to an FPGA, and run a Llama inference on it.
