Google puts AI Mode front and center on the Chrome homepage with new shortcuts
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-10-28
Google has added more AI Mode features to the Chrome homepage: an AI Mode button now sits next to the search box, alongside two shortcut cards — "Do more with AI Mode" (create, summarize, plan) and "Create images" (reimagine, illustrate, edit) — plus customizable shortcuts. It signals Google pushing AI Mode from a search experiment to a default browser entry point.
