cryoET Data Portal releases three datasets benchmarking crossed laser phase plate
ZhongingAlong · x · 2026-10-28
The cryoET Data Portal (CZ Biohub) has released three cryo-electron tomography datasets benchmarking the crossed laser phase plate (xLPP) on E. coli cells overexpressing PP7 virus-like particles: 67 tilt series with xLPP off, 68 with xLPP on at 2-3 µm underfocus, and 56 with xLPP on at 0.5-1.5 µm.
- Deposits include AreTomo3 alignments/reconstructions plus 315 annotations and 321 tomograms
- Subtomogram averaging of PP7 VLPs approaches the Nyquist limit in every dataset, confirming unprecedented xLPP resolution
- Data is public for researchers to explore, evaluate and build on
