OpenAI's Will Depue says compute locks in US primacy as 'end of human history' nears
willdepue · x · 2026-10-28
OpenAI DevRel lead Will Depue shared a chart of global compute capacity (in H100e, based on customs arrival records since 2022) and declared that America will now never collapse — humanity is entering the final act of anthro-civilization and "the rules of decay have changed." The chart shows the US share of world compute rising from 57% in 2023 Q3 to 70% by 2026 Q2, while China's share shrinks from 17% to 10%.
