Anthropic has acquired Mithril Medicine, a one-person company founded by Cody Tranbarger, who used Claude to organize contracts, logistics and experiments across 11 external labs. With just himself, Claude, and part-time consultants, he took a muscular dystrophy antibody treatment from concept to promising mouse results in under 18 months. Technical report details: Claude read six email threads, a handover folder and slide decks, returning a bottom line in 96s and a full plan with five drafted emails in 18 minutes. Tranbarger joined Anthropic to continue the research; a drug could enter human trials as early as late 2028.
