Anthropic hiring manager kills the coding interview: 'Claude made it signal-free'
felixrieseberg · x · 2026-10-28
Felix Rieseberg, a hiring manager at Anthropic, has stopped giving traditional coding interviews, arguing Claude now solves these challenges as trivially as it would assembly questions — so they no longer predict on-the-job success.
His take is optimistic for junior engineers: impact is no longer bounded by years of accumulated framework knowledge. He says he's seen newcomers outpace more tenured, technically stronger engineers — "hunger beats tenure." His advice for engineers without social capital: leverage fresh eyes, pay attention to what veterans overlook, and seize problems others ignore.
