Laid-off journalists find AI articles posted under their bylines at parasite SEO firm Clickout Media

Per Press Gazette, UK-based Clickout Media buys journalistic outlets (reportedly up to £14M for Gambling Insider) to funnel casino links via parasite SEO. After Google manual penalties in September, journalists at Gambling Insider and Esports Insider were laid off — and later found AI-generated articles published under their bylines, keeping sites looking alive to preserve link value. SEO affiliates can reportedly earn up to 50% of gamblers' losses. Traffic charts show both sites collapsing from 450-600K organic visits to near zero after the penalties, confirming the buy-exploit-penalize-discard playbook.
