A bestiary of chaotic attractors from the Field–Golubitsky map, each with Dₙ symmetry
S_Conradi · x · 2026-10-28
Simone Conradi built a "bestiary" of chaotic attractors, each in its own disk and carrying distinct dihedral Dₙ symmetry, generated with the generalized Field–Golubitsky map z ↦ {a₀ + a₁|z|² + a₂ Re(zⁿ) + a₃|z| Re[(z/|z|)ⁿᵖ]} z + a₄ z̄ⁿ⁻¹. Built with Marimo, it doubles as math visualization and generative art.
