LangChain shares how it built its design agent: taste, sandboxes and multiplayer UX
LangChain · x · 2026-10-28
LangChain published a writeup on building its design agent:
- Taste comes from context: models already write good code, but they need your designers' principles, anti-AI-slop guardrails, and the reasoning behind feedback.
- Give the agent a designer's computer: every Slack thread gets its own sandbox where the agent persists across turns, works over a video engine, image tools and a shared canvas, and inspects its own renders.
- Delete rules as models improve: keep design principles, drop workarounds that compensate for old model weaknesses.
- Long-running agents need multiplayer UX: async subagents run for hours; the thread shows plan and live progress, with approval before shipping and mid-run steering by anyone.
- The project is open source and forkable.
