Apple folds AI editing tools into Final Cut Pro: rotoscoping, tracking, Generate Fill
lmoroney · x · 2026-10-28
Apple's Creator Studio update for Final Cut Pro for Mac moves many external AI editing steps into one app:
- Built-in MotionVFX templates, titles and transitions, plus rotoscoping, tracking and color grading tools.
- A still from the timeline can be sent to Pixelmator Pro, edited via Generate Fill with a text prompt, and saved back to the project.
- Ships in November as a free update for existing subscribers.
The author suggests auditing an existing project's app-switching trips to quantify what this update removes.
