Local-only 11-minute film made with MiniMax H3 in ComfyUI, plus a bespoke toolchain

A creator built "Big Juicy Melons," an 11-minute short film (10:59) for his own pinball machine — four original characters, double entendres, dancing, western-style opening titles — generated entirely on local machines.
Pipeline:
- Character performance generation mainly with MiniMax H3 via custom ComfyUI workflows
- Assembled in HyperFrames; Blender for compositing and tracked graphics
- Biggest challenges: character/voice consistency, directing performances and camera moves, making separate shots cohere
He built tools along the way: Scene Studio (reusable character/voice references, editable generation workflows), Workbench (scene settings, takes, review), and Storybench for planning. His takeaway: with current agentic coding workflows you can write bespoke software around exactly what you need, calling other APIs as necessary — he now rarely uses commercial software. A making-of page documents the interfaces and techniques.
