Steve Yegge's Counting House: why AI lands in customer service, not SDLC
Steve_Yegge · x · 2026-10-27
Steve Yegge identifies an enterprise pattern: most companies still struggle to deploy AI across the software development lifecycle, but some are succeeding at rolling out AI — even open-weight models — in customer service departments. He calls this pattern the Counting House and published a long research-style post on it, noting that world-class shops combine Temporal workflow orchestration with classic data science evals. He expects many such systems to roll out next year, and says this is the first idea this year that might convince him to take VC funding.
