Per the Hurun China Rich List, ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming reclaimed the title of China's richest person with a $99.7 billion fortune — up 43% and a record for China's richest individual — as ByteDance aggressively expands into AI.
Other highlights:
- DeepSeek's Liang Wenfeng debuts on the list at No. 7
- AI chipmaker Cambricon's Chen Tianshi breaks into the top 10
- 1,529 individuals with fortunes above $750M made the list, up 6.6% YoY, surpassing the previous 2021 peak of 1,460
