Cryptographer recalls warning everyone about underfunded OpenSSL before Heartbleed

Cryptographer Matthew Green recalls how, for a year or two before 2013/2014, he went around telling everyone about a little cryptography library called OpenSSL — used everywhere yet with almost no developers or security budget. He even ran a satirical account, @OpenSSLFact. The anecdote resurfaces the long-running issue of critical open-source infrastructure being chronically underfunded right before Heartbleed exposed it.
