Building a YouTube thumbnail factory with GPT images + Opus: layered, editable, virality-scored
joshgonsalves_ · x · 2026-10-27
The author shares an AI thumbnail workflow: images generated by GPT image models via Codex CLI; graphics and text built in HTML by Opus 5.5 as fully editable separate layers; virality scoring using an existing Claude/Codex subscription; pulling winning formats from YouTube as reference; and previewing results inside the YouTube UI. Everything runs on a canvas like Paper or Figma, driven end-to-end by Claude or Codex. A full demo video is coming, and early testers are being recruited.
