AMD to invest $1B in Meta's equity offering, deepening AI compute partnership

AMD will invest $1 billion in Meta's equity offering, cementing a deep compute partnership. Meta has deployed millions of EPYC processors across generations and is a lead customer for 6th Gen EPYC CPUs, with future collaboration including the "Verano" generation. AMD Instinct GPUs already run in Meta's production infrastructure for training, ranking and recommendation; Meta was an early definition customer for the MI450 architecture and will deploy a custom Instinct GPU optimized for its workloads. The collaboration extends to future MI500-series GPUs and next-gen rack-scale systems, with AMD Helios rackscale solutions powering Meta's frontier models and Muse AI agent. CEOs Lisa Su and Mark Zuckerberg framed it as building gigawatt-scale infrastructure for the "superintelligence era."
