yacineMTB · x · 2026-10-27
Apertus 1.5, from the Swiss AI Initiative (EPFL, ETH Zurich, CSCS), adds multimodal input, reasoning, longer context and better instruction following. The project pitches itself as fully open: training data, code, weights, methods and alignment principles all documented and reproducible. Trained on 1000+ languages, its 8B and 70B models are competitive with top open models at equal scale, with opt-out respect, PII removal and anti-memorization techniques built in.
