Machenta exits stealth with $40M seed for VDA robot model that learns from one demo, fully in simulation

Robotics startup Machenta has come out of stealth with a $40M seed round co-led by Creandum and USV.
The company unveiled VDA (Vision-Demo-Action), a new kind of robot foundation model:
- Instant learning: one demonstration, no further training — replacing the usual hours/days of data collection
- Trained entirely in simulation, without a single pixel of real-world data
- The team describes teaching robots this way as "physical vibe coding"
The bet is on in-context learning from a single demonstration, which could dramatically lower the data barrier for teaching robots new tasks.
