Machenta exits stealth with $40m seed for robots that learn from one demo, trained purely in simulation

UK robotics researcher Ed Johns announced Machenta, out of stealth with a $40m seed co-led by Creandum and USV. Its robot foundation model learns tasks instantly from a single demonstration with no further training, and was trained entirely in simulation without a single pixel of real-world data — 'physical vibe coding' for teaching robots. Builds on his Imperial College line of few-shot manipulation work (InstantPolicy, DINOBot), which researchers like Eric Rosen have praised.
