Robot startup Machenta exits stealth with $40m seed for one-shot, simulation-only robot learning

Ed Johns announced Machenta, a new robotics company emerging from stealth with a $40m seed round co-led by Creandum and USV, building "Instant Robot Learning."
Its robot foundation model claims to learn tasks from a single demonstration with no further training — versus the hours or days of data collection normally required — and was trained entirely in simulation without a single pixel of real-world data. Johns describes teaching robots as feeling like "physical vibe coding."
