AI models produced existence proofs for Yang-Mills and QCD, formally verified in Lean

Per @danintheory, a physics collaboration will explain a mathematically rigorous existence proof of interacting quantum field theories with gauge fields and fermions in four dimensions, including QCD and a unified completion of the Standard Model. As a subproblem, the work proves the existence of pure Yang-Mills theory — part of the Clay Millennium Prize problem. The proofs are formally verified in Lean: their models first produced a natural-language proof of Yang-Mills existence, then a proof for QCD. Physicists discussed how these 4D theories are weakly interacting in the UV, essentially free particles at small scales.
