mcp-warden: local-first credential broker keeps API keys away from coding agents
Relevant_Mousse_9117 · reddit · 2026-10-27
A developer open-sourced mcp-warden, a Rust, Apache-2.0, local-first credential broker for MCP. Secrets live in the OS keychain; scoped presets (github-read, stripe-charges) gate access; agents call proxyhttp/sshexec and the broker injects credentials server-side, returning only results—agents never see the key. Allow-list validation, approval flows via desktop/TUI/Telegram, and local logging round it out. Works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Cline and any MCP client, mitigating prompt-injection and transcript-leak risks.
