A five-person team has released Maya-2, an open-weight frontier voice model for India. It claims SOTA synthesis across 11 official languages covering 1.5B+ people, 20 pre-loaded native-speaker voices, best-in-class zero-shot voice cloning, and benchmarks beating ElevenLabs v3, Sarvam Bulbul v3, and Cartesia Sonic 3.5.
