Claude Opus 5.5 safeguards flagged as flagging normal dev work, users grumble
philipvollet · x · 2026-10-27
Philip Vollet shared a screenshot of Claude flagging his session: "Opus 5.5's safeguards flagged this session" with details [cyber]. The notice explains Opus 5.5 is more capable and has stronger safeguards, which can sometimes flag non-cybersecurity work, and that Anthropic is improving them to reduce false flags; users can fall back to Opus 4.8 or edit and retry with Opus 5.5.
His caption — "IPO my ass" — captures frustration that the new model's safeguards are misfiring on legitimate work, a real pain point for paying users.
