China's first AI feature film flops at the Chinese box office

Cartoon Brew reports that Sanxingdui: Future Past, China's first feature-length AI-produced film, flopped in Chinese theaters. Stills show uneven quality — the live-action-proportioned Bronze Age warriors hold up, but the stylized ox character looks crude. The weak box office fuels debate over whether fully AI-produced features are ready for theatrical audiences.
