Google escalates SERP poisoning: 40% of AccuRanker fetches hit at peak
SEO · x · 2026-10-27
Google has been serving "poisoned" SERPs to rank trackers since late September. AccuRanker's update: Google tightened detection on Oct 20 and 23; on the worst day (Oct 24) 40% of first desktop fetches were poisoned, dropping to 3.2% after AccuRanker's checks. The Oct 23 step persists at 4–6.5% of first fetches (vs 1.6–3.3% before), with 0.6% desktop / 1.0% mobile keywords still affected on Oct 25. Cut-down pages doubled to 4.0% of desktop requests. The fix came from AccuRanker's own detection, not Google backing off.
