Anthropic's $80.7B H1 loss is mostly $72.4B paper charges; operating loss just $693M

Per Anthropic's filing, H1 2026 revenue was $16.3B against a staggering $80.7B net loss.
But roughly $72.4B of that stems from valuation changes of convertible notes and other financial instruments — an accounting charge, not cash. The actual operating loss was about $693M. The takeaway: don't read AI companies' losses without separating paper charges from operating losses.
