Betting on AI diffusion is secretly a bet against capabilities, argues abhiadesai
abhiadesai · x · 2026-10-27
abhiadesai pushes back on diffusion advocates who argue the economy needs human-in-the-loop AI tools to create value. They underrate (1) how fast an unencumbered "in silico economy" fulfilling human needs will be built, and (2) how uncompetitive halfway, non-AI-only solutions will be against it. His point: many betting on diffusion don't realize they are effectively betting against capabilities advancement—and it's worth asking whether that's a bet you actually want to make.
