OpenAI reports AI proofs spanning Kakeya, ETH refutation and Yang–Mills existence

On October 26 OpenAI announced AI-produced results across three fields: local smoothing in all dimensions (reportedly resolving the Kakeya and Stein restriction conjectures), a refutation of the Exponential Time Hypothesis (not settling P vs NP), and rigorous existence proofs for quantum field theories including QCD and Yang–Mills existence (short of the full Millennium Prize problem, which also requires a mass gap). OpenAI reports Lean formalizations and says independent academic examination is underway.
