Engineer's tip: before fixing code, ask if it should exist at all
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-10-27
A recommendation worth keeping: before fixing something, ask if it should even exist. The author was about to prompt a somewhat complex security fix for a service, then discovered all the code could simply be deleted. Especially relevant for AI-assisted coding: audit whether the logic deserves to exist before patching it.
