OpenAI ships GPT-6.1 Terra; Brockman says its computer use now beats his own speed
gdb · x · 2026-10-27
OpenAI officially launched GPT-6.1 Terra, a model focused on fast, capable computer use at a lower price: it understands what's on screen, takes actions across apps, and writes naturally, positioned as an efficiency model for the full workday.
Co-founder Greg Brockman endorsed the demo, saying Terra's computer use has "crossed a qualitative threshold where it feels faster at using a computer than what I can do unassisted." The attached demo shows the model operating Blender at actual speed.
