NVIDIA reportedly stops taking RTX 5090 orders from board partners, even backorders unavailable

According to supply chain info gathered by der8auer, NVIDIA is no longer accepting RTX 5090 orders (GB202 GPUs with 32GB GDDR7 kits) from board partners — even backorders, previously allowed during shortages, are unavailable. Cooler suppliers are also reportedly seeing declining demand into 2027.
NVIDIA denies the card is discontinued, saying production is capacity-constrained but shipping continues, consistent with exec Jeff Fisher's earlier statement. Still, a partner confirming no EOL notice yet no new orders points to tight supply.
