Anthropic's S-1 reveals up to $567B compute spend and self-built data centers

Anthropic's 318-page IPO prospectus (S-1) reveals it plans to spend up to $567B on compute in the coming years and is building its own data centers via an initiative called "Anthropic Direct," which will "represent a growing share" of its compute investments.
The filing states that access to enormous and increasing quantities of specialized compute is existential to developing, training, and deploying frontier models, with insufficient compute flagged as a significant risk factor.
